Terms

Last updated: July 2026

These general terms explain how Lavent works across styling, decor hire and event services. They apply alongside the detailed agreement prepared for each wedding, private celebration or corporate event.

1. About These Terms

Every event is different. The detailed terms issued for your event will set out the agreed service, quote, payment schedule, hire items, timings, delivery or collection arrangements, and any other relevant requirements.

Those event-specific terms form the agreement for your booking. If they differ from these general terms, the event-specific terms take priority.

2. Enquiries, Quotes and Availability

Our quotes are prepared around the information available at the time, including the date, venue, guest numbers, styling requirements and level of support needed.

If your plans change before booking, we may need to revise the quote or confirm availability again. We will always explain this before asking you to confirm anything further.

A booking is only confirmed once the requirements set out in your event agreement have been met.

3. Working Together

We ask clients to share relevant information about the event, venue access, timings, suppliers, guest numbers and any changes that may affect the agreed work.

We will explain what we need from you and when. Where venue approval, permissions or third-party supplier arrangements are required, responsibility will be set out in your event agreement.

4. Styling and Decor Hire

Where decor is hired from Lavent, the individual items, quantities, hire period and delivery, setup, collection or return arrangements will be listed in your event agreement.

All hired items remain the property of Lavent. We ask that they are cared for during the agreed hire period and returned in the condition set out in your event terms. Any loss, damage or additional cleaning requirements will be dealt with in line with those terms.

5. Payments

Payment amounts, due dates and accepted payment methods will be confirmed in your event agreement.

If a payment is late, this may affect our ability to order, prepare, deliver or provide the agreed service. We will contact you if there is a problem and explain the next steps.

6. Changes and Cancellations

We understand that plans can change. Please let us know as soon as possible if you need to change your event date, venue, guest numbers, requirements or hired items.

Changes and cancellations must be confirmed in writing. Any effect on availability, costs, payments already made or work already completed will be explained in your event-specific terms.

7. Circumstances Outside Our Control

Events can be affected by circumstances no one can reasonably control, including severe weather, venue closures, transport disruption, supplier failure or public health restrictions.

If this happens, we will work with you in good faith to understand the available options. Any postponement, alternative-date, fee or refund arrangements will be handled in line with your event agreement and your legal rights.

8. Our Creative Work

Any proposals, moodboards, styling concepts, drawings, written materials and other creative work prepared by Lavent remain our property unless we agree otherwise in writing.

They are created for your event and should not be copied, reproduced or used by another supplier without our written permission.

9. Photography

We may photograph or film our work for our portfolio, website and social channels. Where this applies, we will discuss it as part of the event planning process.

Please let us know before the event if you have a particular privacy concern.

10. Our Responsibility

We will provide our services with reasonable care and skill.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any rights that cannot legally be limited or excluded. Your event-specific terms may include further information about the agreed scope of our responsibility.

11. Privacy

We handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Notice. This explains how we use information provided through enquiries, bookings and our website.

12. Concerns or Complaints

If something does not feel right, please contact us through our Contact page as soon as possible. We would always prefer the opportunity to understand the issue and try to resolve it directly.

13. Governing Law

These terms and any event agreement are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales, unless applicable law says otherwise.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these general terms from time to time. The version that applies to your booking will be the version shared with you when your event agreement is issued.
